Beware of the Bees! – Today brought home the point of how focused you must be while working around and in trees! Pre-job briefings, hazard recognition, and continued vigilance while working the entire tree. The climber located this nest 70 feet up in the tree after upsetting them by a pruned branch from the next lead over. A skillful evacuation of the area limited the exposure until their location could be pin pointed. While searching for this one, a second nest was found twenty feet lower and ten feet from where we had just been pruning with the lift. The lower nest was handled so the pruning could be completed. The upper nest, slightly out of reach, was left intact and worked around for the final cuts.
